Louis Vuitton’s 2023 SS collection was presented on January 19, 2023. This show was the first show that Louis Viutton had presented after Virgil Abloh’s death on November 21, 2021. The show contains multiple factors that Abloh valued in fashion to remember Abloh.

The show started with a marching band and a live performance of Kendrick Lamar which looked like a celebration of a hero.

The theme of the show was the spirit of a child. Abloh had found inspiration from the actions of children who were not polluted by reality or social media/internet. He also had tried to design from the perspective of a child.

Therefore, the set of the show refers to a magnified playground and was decorated with figures of huge balloons and scissors that represents the spirit of a child.

According to Louis Vuitton’s official description, the collection reflects the transition of a naive childhood to a grown-up refinement. Factors such as paper planes, cartoon prints, building blocks, floral prints, and clay textures that iconically represent childhood memories were found on multiple looks of the show.
